Back at it again

Wow!! It has been a very long time since my last blog. Things have definitely changed and I plan to tell you all about it! One, I am going to be more consistent with blogging. I am in a new place in my life where writing may actually be therapeutic for me! I want to dedicate/design/revamp this blog to be more about God, having a relationship with Him, fashion, cooking, relationships, ESP marriage. I will be very transparent and my prayer is that you all are able to relate to me in one way or another. I want an open dialogue, where we share our points of views in a safe and respectful manner. I will not tolerate negativity of any kind!

Ok, so let's see. A lot has changed since my last blog. I am now.......MARRIED!!!!!!!! Who would have thought that I would be married????? LoL!  I am with the love of my life. We have been married for 4 weeks now. Yes, we are still newlyweds and loving every moment! I graduated with my BA back in 2009, no kids yet. My relationship with Christ has grown and continues to grow. I am in a new field (my actual career field), though I am seriously considering transitioning to a new job. My stress is overwhelming and I have battled insomnia. It's been 7 weeks since the last time I have used a sleep aide, so it is safe to say that I have my insomnia under control now, and that's a true Blessing!

I am looking forward to reconnecting with old and connecting with new bloggers. Feel free to respond to any of my past blogs. TTYL! !

Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I last posted. A lot has changed and a lot is still changing. Well, I left Kohl's Corp to persue a job that is in my field. I absolutely love my job. It's challenging at times, but it has definitely opened my eyes up to a whole lot more! It has made me realize what my true calling is, and that is to work with children. I have a desire to work with those who are considered "at risk" in whom society has "written off". I feel it is up to me to provide them with structure and security and to let them know that someone does care and someone will be there for them.

I will be re~attending school in the Spring of 2012 to obtain my Masters in Counseling. It's been a long time coming, but I am here and ready! I will also strive to obtain my Ph. D or Psy.D before I turn 30, so that leaves me with less than four years to get all of this completed!

My relationship is stable and things are going good. Unfortunately, there hasn't been a proposal yet, buuuuut we will see what happens in the next year. Hopefully his eyes will be opened up completely and he'll see what a great catch I am! (Lol). A new addition to my family will be added next year as well, and I am very excited for it to happen. Fendi is doing well....although I was so ready to give her up two days ago! Lol. My relationship with God is still not where I want it to be, but it is getting stronger and I am still striving to be as close to Him as I possibly can. Once I realize and grasp the fact that I am not perfect and I will always make mistakes, the better off I will be. God truly does know my heart. (I so hate that saying)...but it's true.

I think I have covered a lot. I vow to try to stay on top of my blogs from here on out...*scouts honor* (smile). Until next time bloggers....Stay Blessed!

Next Chapter

Next chapter-
I think that at one time or another- we all become afraid of moving on. Everyone wants more out of life; everyone wants to move on to the next level; rather it's on a job or in a relationship- we live in a world that is constantly moving forward and no one wants to be left behind. However, when you began to think about it; we all find and have "comfort" spots. Comfort spots that become part of a daily routine and no one wants to do anything that is uncomfortable. It's like we want to take risks- but only if the outcome is a guaranteed success. Taking on a new job, getting married, obtaining a Masters degree, etc are all exciting things- but deep down, you always "wonder" rather or not this is the right choice. So how do you determine rather or not you made the right choice?

You determine rather or not you have made the right choice by following and trusting God's word. Proverbs 3:5-6 says: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path. So my advise to you all would be to follow Proverbs 3:4-5 and allow the Lord to direct you. He will never steer you wrong...

LoVe

Ok, so I know it's been awhile since I have posted. I have had quite a few situations occur; and I needed a mental break. I am back now and ready to conquer the world! LoL. I titled this post- LoVe. Love is merely a four letter word; yet it possesses so much more to everyone in different ways. I'm not going to get into the different types of love; Eros, Philos, and Agape- however, I will mention that over the past 25 years that I have been alive- I know I have experienced these three types of love in one way or another....we all have.

Love by definition is: a strong positive emotion of regard and affection. Key word here is emotion. We are all emotional human beings, whether we like it or not. We react to different situations, differently, yet we still all react with emotion. Lately I have been recognizing the different types of emotions that I have in regards to certain situations. Right now, my grandfather is fighting for his life. I have experienced first hand- once again- having someone look fine one minute and literally a few hours later, they are in a hospital fighting to live. I feel emotionally drained, yet every day I go see him, tears begin to flow. I am crying not for myself, but for him. Who would have thought that this would happen? My LoVe for him outweighs the pain or angry feelings that I have inside of me. Am I angry at God? Of course not! I'm angry at the situation. But then I am reminded that I cannot become an over-comer unless I over come, trouble...

During the past week in a half, my boyfriend has been very very very supportive. Just the extra tight hugs or the "it's going to be ok" has helped me gain more strength. I don't think he understands how much I have depended on him- without showing him that I am- this week. He is truly the epitome of what LoVe is all about. I don't tell him as often as I probably should; that he has opened my eyes and heart back to up to LoVe. I am no longer afraid of being hurt. I know that for every hurt I experience, comes another strength that I will gain.

Today- I encourage you all to give LoVe a try. Yes, it's a scary thing- opening your heart up to something or someone and not knowing what will happen. However, if you go through life without taking chances- then you will never really live. I LoVe you all and pray that you all with step out on Faith giving God and LoVe another chance. Remember.......

God is LoVe! :o)

Stand Still

It's been a few weeks since my last post. A lot has been going on. I am making decisions and waiting for answers, etc etc concerning a lot of things. There are things within me that I am discovering. Things that I never knew existed. Some are good and some are not so good. I'm learning that with every not so good thing that is within me- there is room for me to improve. I'm learning now how to deal with disappointment in the "professional" realm. To know you qualify for something and yet because you don't have the right "look" you get jipped is a hard pill to swallow and I am finding myself having to "swallow" this daily. Am I ok? Sure am! I know that Gos has bigger and better things in-store for me. The hard part is standing still while he works his plan.

I encourage you all; no matter what you are going through- to just stand still and know that God has everything in control...

Wanting More

As I drove into work today- my mind began to race just as fast as my car and the other cars on the highway were. I began thinking about numerous things all at once. The gist of it all was that I realized that I wanted more out of life. Yes, I have a job and in this day and age- I am BLESSED and very grateful to have it; however, is it really enough? I have come to the realization that, living pay check to pay check is not how I imagine my life to be- no one does; however, the harsh reality is that if we don't want more, we will not achieve more.

I made up in my mind this morning as I was driving at about 70 MPH- that I will achieve more in life. I want more "natural" things; such as a bigger home, an even more expensive car, more jewelry- however, the most important things that I want from life are Spiritual. I want to be able to make a difference in this world. I want to help others achieve their dreams and all that they set out for. I want to brighten at least one persons day...every day. I simply want to be whom God has called me to be.... :o)

Remain encouraged everyone.....

Unexpected Curve Ball

So as we know, life throws us curve balls....unexpectedly. How we handle these curve balls is what separates us one from another. For instance, today I received a phone call that could have literally turned my life upside down. I must admit, it almost did. But after I wiped away the tears and talked to God, I am now back at peace and content with the outcome of that conversation. No, it's totally not what I expected; however, it is not the end of the world. I am sharing this with you as a way of helping you realize the way you handle life's curve balls. Do you get upset when things don't go your way? Do you allow bad news to ruin your day? Do you scream and yell and after all of that, you're still in the same predicament? If so, I encourage you to step back- realize that being upset isn't going to change anything, so take a few moments- scream, cry, yell, etc...but then PRAY and leave it in God's hands... he handles things so much better than we can anyway! =)
